Allocating Inventory to pickslip
DCMS verifies each pickslip downloaded from the head office against available inventory and modifies the pickslips accordingly to accommodate the inventory levels. If DCMS finds SKU in short supply it reduces the quantity of particular SKU in the pickslip based on certain business rules defined by the organization and informs the head office accordingly. This is done to avoid wastage of time while picking as the picker does not have to go around the warehouse looking for the non-existent SKU.
Picker Clocking / time keeping
Picker is a person responsible for picking up cartons/ SKUs from the warehouse and dispatching them for final shipment. Picker Clocking involves the process of assigning the pickslips to different pickers by supervisor. This done by the picker who registers the Pickslip numbers, assigned to him. Main purpose of this process is to measure the productivity and make the payment on the basis of number of pickslips executed by each picker.
Packing
DCMS verifies the SKUs picked against the pickslips and maintains the information of target cartons in which they are to be packed. This is done to eliminate common problems in DCs where during packing, the items meant for one customer accidentally gets packed in cartons meant for another customer. In case the order being processed is not fully received DCMS allows packing of such orders but after suitable warnings. A report however is generated for all such short supplies. So that the shipment is ready in case the management decides to short ship the order. This module also generates the UCC-128 labels, customized packing slips, address stickers, etc for each packed box. Flexibility is provided in document formats in order to meet specific customer requirements and eliminate the nuisance of memorizing these requirements and changing the documents at the last minute.
