Exporting Shipment Information
After shipping the orders, DCMS exports the shipment information to the third party software. Third party software generates invoices based on this information The exporting process can take place in two ways:
To a remote database: The system can export the information through a remote connection.
In an ASCII file: System can also generate ASCII file of a desired format that can be used to update the remote database.
Generating Shipping Documents
Shipping requires a number of documents to be printed to accompany the shipment. DCMS enables the user to prepare different types of documents. These are
JetForm Reports
JetForm is an user-friendly software that acts as an interface between the requirement supervisor and DCMS. The documents that are prepared for shipment are printed with the help of JetForms. These include: Statutory documents like reports for custom authorities. Legal documents like bill of lading which is signed by the freight carrier when they accept the shipment. Industry standard documentation which includes packing slips, etc. Customer specific documentation. Many customers require that packing slips must be in their specified format. DCMS supports customization. DCMS supports minimum paper work but incase paper documents like pickslips are to be printed, DCMS can support it.
Labels:
Labels are designed to uniquely identify each shipment. The format of the Labels is based on the industry specifications and they are pasted on the cartons during the time of delivery. |
